I’m a Registered Dietitian and founder at Shelagh Rose Nutrition. I’m so happy you’re here!
People always ask why I went into the field of nutrition, and while it may sound silly the answer is simple. I love food! I was lucky enough to grow up in a household where both good nutrition and great taste were prioritized at meals. Good food has always been exciting to me- I love trying new recipes and experimenting in the kitchen. I decided I wanted to be a dietitian in high school and went on to complete my Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition at the University of Massachusetts. This led to completing my Dietetic Internship at Massachusetts General Hospital here in Boston and now, here we are!
Amidst the years of my nutrition education, I found myself struggling with my own health. I was the healthiest eater I knew and felt terrible. After a blanket IBS diagnosis and a lack of success from conventional medicine, I turned to functional nutrition. Navigating SIBO, h-pylori, candida, a PCOS diagnosis and more allows me to confidently say that functional nutrition changed my life. It gave me answers that my doctors simply couldn’t provide.
These experiences led me to pivot my work in the field of dietetics to spread the magic of functional nutrition to others. Because the truth is, the answers you’re looking for? They do exist. You can feel amazing. And my mission is to get you there, together. I have worked one on one with hundreds of women, and their success stories never get old. Guiding women in taking back their health truly lights me up. I have the best job in the world.
Outside of work you’ll find me in the kitchen, at Trader Joe’s, or spending time outside. Part of the reason why I love my work so much is that I truly practice what I preach. Cooking nourishing meals and treats for my friends and family is one of my favorite things to do. Food is my love language!
